About Konverse Dance Crews
What We’re All About
Konverse Dance Crews is an award-winning community dance group based in Barking and Dagenham. Konverse allows young people and adults to converse and express themselves through dance.
The dance crew equips young people with leadership skills by encouraging them to teach classes, produce annual showcases and take part in community events and competitions; providing young people and adults with incredible opportunities to develop and promote their talent.
Our dance programme was established in 2012 and will celebrate 14 years of serving the local community in September 2026. Konverse Dance Crews was formally established under its current name in 2018 and became an independent organisation in 2022, following its transition from a joint programme with The Salvation Army.
